January 2026 Newsletter

This week is the last week of school in 2025. Please review the following year-end reminder and January 2026 newsletter. We wish you and your family a wonderful holiday season, and please stay healthy and safe!

Winter Holiday Party during the week of 12/15

We are celebrating the holidays at Bee Best; every classroom will host a modest holiday celebration during the final week of school before the winter break. If you have any questions, please contact your child’s classroom teacher.

Thursday, 12/18 and Friday, 12/19: Minimum Days for Grade 6-8 (Middle School)

Grades 6-8 (middle schools) will be having district-wide minimum days on Thursday, 12/18, and Friday, 12/19. We will inform our drivers of the revised time for pickup. If your child does not need to be picked up, please call your driver. If your child arrives at Bee Best during lunchtime, please pack a bag of lunch.

Bee Best Learning Center will be open daily from 8:00 am – 6:30 pm during the winter break. Only pre-signed-up students can attend. We will NOT accept any drop-in. Any changes or cancellations made after signing up in the Google form must be specified in writing via email to info@beebestlearning.com before December 15, 2025

Please note that without a written cancellation, you will be charged for any absences during the winter break program. This policy helps us plan staffing and resources appropriately.

Monday, January 5, 2026: No School (Certificated Workday) for Middle Schools Grades 6-8

On Monday, January 5, all middle schools (grades 6-8) in Castro Valley are closed for the Certificated Workday holiday. Bee Best Learning Center will be open from 8:00 am – 6:30 pm; all middle school students must pre-sign-up via Google form if he/she plan to attend that day. We will NOT accept any drop-ins. Please plan accordingly. 

If you would like to purchase lunch ($8.00) for your child for this day, the menu will be cheese pizza with fruit and milk. Students can bring the extra cash for mini golf or bowling, and an Itea drink. 

January Tuition & Transportation Fee Slip

Our January tuition and transportation fees cover January 5-30, 2026, and are due on January 10th. To access the January transportation slip, click here. Or on our website at the “Parent Portal” tab with the password “fall2025”.

Prepaid Meal Plan and December Hot Snack Order (Optional) 

All lunch and hot snack orders must be paid for using the prepaid meal plan. You can purchase the prepaid meal plan ahead of time before ordering the meal in Google Forms. The prepaid meal plan is sold for $20, $40, or $60. The meal cost is $5.00 per hot snack and $8.00 per lunch.

Once the meal order is finalized by the deadline, no cancellations or carryovers will be allowed. You can choose between receiving a refund for the remaining balance of your prepaid meal order or carrying it forward for the next school year.

Monday, January 19: Martin Luther King Jr. Holiday

Bee Best Learning Center will be CLOSED on Monday, January 19 for Martin Luther King Jr Day. All local schools are also closed. Bee Best will open again on Tuesday, January 20, 2026.

Winter 2026 Workshops

We offer a variety of fun and educational workshops starting from January 20-April 24, 2026, for additional fees. Currently we still have some spots for the following workshops:

• Pre-Public Speaking & Debate Grade 1-2 (Monday 3:30pm-4:30pm): 2 spots.

• Public Speaking & Debate Grade 3-5 (Monday 4:30pm-5:30pm):6 spots.

• Math Champions Grade 1 (Tuesday 4:30pm-5:30pm): 4 spots.

• Math Champions Grade 2 (Tuesday 3:30pm-4:30pm): 1 spot.

• Math Champions Grade K (Wednesday 3:30pm-4:30pm): 6 spots.

• Math Champions Grade 3 (Wednesday 4:30pm-5:30pm):7 spots.

• Math Champions Grade 4-5 (Thursday 3:30pm-4:30pm): 7 spots.

• Math Champions Grade 5-6 (Thursday 4:30pm-5:30pm): 6 spots.

• Chess Grade 1-2 (Friday 2:30pm-3:30pm): 18 spots.

• Chess Grade 3-5 (Friday 3:30pm-4:40pm): 14 spots.

• Art Exploration Grade 1-5 (Friday 2:30pm-3:30pm): 4 spots.

Pick up Procedure Update

To improve safety and efficiency during student pickup, we are making the following adjustments.

Visibility: We will be adding more lighting outside our building to increase visibility.

Car Flow: During peak time (around 5:15–6:00 PM), only the first six cars will be sent students initially. This helps keep traffic flowing smoothly and reduces cars crossing paths.

Pickup App: Please use the pickup app here each time so we can have your child ready, which will reduce waiting time.

Speed Limit: Drive carefully when entering Bee Best. The speed limit is 5 mph, as students may be crossing the parking lot.

Patience: Some younger children may need extra time to settle into the car.

Tax Information

If you need a summary of your 2025 Bee Best invoices for tax reasons, please send an e-mail to info@beebestlearning.com after January 1st and forward. Our tax number is 26-2241939. If you have any further questions, please contact Director Jing.

Communication

If you would like to make an appointment to meet your child’s room teacher in-person or on zoom, please let us know by sending an email request to info@beebestlearning.com. This will help us to understand your expectations better on how your child is completing the daily assignments or any concerns and questions that you may have.

A kind reminder that we now have room teacher and Chinese instructor’s email addresses for you to communicate things directly that are specific to the room teacher or the Chinese instructor. The room teacher or Chinese instructor may take 2-3 days to reply to your email. When you write an email to the room teacher or Chinese instructor, please make sure to cc  info@beebestlearning.com. 

When you write an email, please be specific and put in the subject line the staff name or room number and your child’s full name. Since we have multiple staff sharing the same email. We also suggest you also cc info@beebestlearning.com.  

Any other regular communication, please continue to use info@beebestlearning.com to reach the front desk receptionist and the director.
